Manuel Antonio is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Costa Rica, easily accessible by air or land, and boasts one of the most beautiful coastal national parks in the country.

Our hotel offers several vacation packages that include transportation from the airport for your convenience. Let us help you plan your dream vacation! There are several ways to get from San Jose to Manuel Antonio:

  • Sansa Airlines: Flies from Juan Santamaria, San Jose's International Airport, directly to Quepos. Flight time is 25 minutes. There are several daily flights which can be booked online at www.flysansa.com. It is a 10-minute ride from the Quepos Airfield to Byblos Resort & Casino. We are pleased to arrange pickup or drop-off service, or their shuttle can be taken from the airport to Quepos and Manuel Antonio Hotels at time of landing.
  • Private Ground Transportation: We can arrange for a private driver to pick you up in San Jose and provide door-to-door service to Byblos. Typically, they use an air conditioned 12-passenger van, though other style vehicle arrangements can be made. Prices vary according to the type of vehicle and number of people in your party. The ride is approximately 2.5 hours on good roads and the driver will make stops along the way as requested. Please consult us for further information and pricing.
  • Gray Line Costa Rica. Countrywide daily shuttles.
  • Interbus or Grayline: Semi-public transportation service from San Jose to Byblos in vans or coasters. Cost is around $39 per person each way, though departure times are limited. Both companies will provide direct shuttle service from major hotels or the Juan Santamaria airport in San Jose to Byblos. Occasional stops are made along the way, and once in Manuel Antonio, you may stop at many different hotels to drop off other passengers. The ride generally takes 4 hours depending on the number of stops along the way. Please contact us and we will be happy to give you more information or arrange this for you.
  • Driving: In early 2010 we enjoyed the inauguration of the new Caldera Hwy making the drive from San Jose to Quepos/Manuel Antonio much faster and easier than ever before! From the San Jose International Airport, turn right and take the Main Highway towards San Jose. Where the freeway automatically ends, you will pass the large La Sabana Park on your right. After passing that park, at the stoplight for McDonalds you will see a store called "Universal", turn right at that first light, keeping the park on your right side again. This 2-lane road will automatically turn into the Caldera Hwy leading you towards Jaco/Quepos/Manuel Antonio areas. There are several toll booths along this road, so you will need to keep a handful of $1 bills available (or colones) in order to pay these. Continue to follow the hwy following the signs towards Jaco, then Quepos. About 2.5 hrs later, as you enter the town of Quepos, veer left after the one lane bridge, passing the Best Western Hotel, turn left at the large brown sign for Manuel Antonio National Park. Drive another 2.5 miles (4 km) on the curvy road towards Manuel Antonio National Park. You will see the Byblos Resort sign and parking on your left-hand side just past Café Milagro.
